Getting Started Workshop

The goal of the Getting Started Workshop is to give you a solid foundation for recovery from sexual addiction.

The workshop is for those who have been touched by the addiction. This includes the person struggling with the addiction as well as the spouse.

Couples are traumatized by an addictive process. The partnership suffers a tremendous blow in the wake of sexual addiction. Each person in the partnership benefits from learning about the disease. This helps each person heal and both to begin healing together.

Single adults benefit by participation as well as adults who are partnered with someone who is unwilling or unable to attend. It is important for single adults to come so they do not feel alone as they begin the recovery journey.

How to Register

Qualifications

All participants are screened and assessed by a therapist before attending the program. This assures that every participant is  ready to engage others who are struggling with a sexual addiction in an appropriate way.

Material

The goal is to educate. You will explore the underlying process that drives sexual addiction. Knowledge is power. With understanding comes the ability to accept oneself and to forgive others. You will be empowered to experience healing and to build a new life as you continue to pursue recovery from sexual addiction.

Format

The Getting Started Workshop is a larger group workshop consisting of 15 to 30 people. Participants sign confidentiality agreements to assure privacy.

The program lasts six weeks, once per week.

Being an active group process—not a lecture —you will be fully engaged. We know this is a tender topic.  Our therapists are trained to keep you safe emotionally. Everyone in the room shares a similar story. You will not be alone with your struggle or singled out in any way.

Sexual addiction is a challenging disease. Expect to find yourself outside your comfort zone. With hard word comes great strength and healing. Be prepared to be loved and cared for.
