Leslie Haws earned a B.A. degree in Sociology and Political Science in 1986, and in 1996 completed a Master’s in Education with a specialty in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of San Francisco. She has been a mental health advocate, volunteer and worked in the mental health profession for over 30 years.
Over the past 20 years of direct clinical work with clients Leslie has sought on-going training in new and advanced therapeutic models for working with trauma and addiction. Since 2002 she has been treating individuals and couples in recovery for sex and pornography addiction.
She is a certified sexual addiction therapist (CSAT) trained by Patrick Carnes. She also has specialized training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing; Trauma and Attachment; mindfulness and the brain; Sand Play Therapy; Jungian/Depth Psychology; Geriatric and Grief Counseling as well as trauma and addiction recovery.
Leslie is a member of The Society for the Advancement of Sexual Health; The International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Professionals; The American Association of Sexuality, Educators, Counselors, and Therapists; and The California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists.
